The Payton community will usher in the 2026-27 school year with the annual homecoming dance on Saturday, September 26 from 7 to 10:30 p.m. 

Earlier this month, Student Government unveiled “A Night in New York” as this year’s theme. A professional decorator will transform the atrium into a glittering Gotham cityscape pulsating with dance music from the DJ. Student Government and Friends of Payton will also serve pizza, soda, water and desserts on a first-come, first-served basis before 8:30 p.m. 

There will not be a coat check this year, and students are not allowed to bring personal bags or backpacks. Doors will close an hour after opening. 

“We’ve been working on this since early in the summer,” said StudGov President Anden Hong ‘27. “We at Student Government want to give students the best dance possible.” 

Tickets were released on Sept. 15 in a schoolwide email and are available online for $20 each prior to Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 3:30 p.m. Per admin rules, Payton students who bring a guest must submit a form.
