Few masks but far from forgotten: Marking three years since Chicago’s Covid-19 lockdown

A discarded mask lies on Payton’s sidewalk. Three years after the Covid-19 shutdown, students have since returned to full-time, in-person learning without the requirement of wearing a mask in their school. However, some students still choose to wear masks at Payton, especially if they have been recently sick or if they want want to protect immunocompromised loved ones.
