The Payton boys’ varsity basketball team fell to Saint Viator Friday night in their IHSA regional championship game, 70-34, in the new gym. The visiting Arlington Heights school raced out to a commanding early lead, and the Grizzlies never recovered. Payton fans, however, were not at all deterred — the bleachers were packed with students in orange T-shirts who raucously cheered and chanted all the way until the final buzzer sounded.
