Payton teachers held a brief “walk-in” demonstration in front of school on Thursday morning in a show of solidarity with striking Los Angeles public school teachers.

Thursday marked the fourth day of the educator strike in America’s second-largest city, the first there since 1989. LA teachers argue they need more pay and better-funded schools.

Teacher “walk-ins” — demonstrations in which teachers congregate together outside of school before walking inside together in solidarity — are nothing new at Payton. 2016’s walk-in, for example, saw large student turnout in addition to teachers in support of the Chicago Teachers Union.
